Our Services

Play Therapy is the most developmentally appropriate therapy for children. Children are not small adults. When you are considering therapy for your child to help with emotional and behavioral regulation, then you should consider a therapist who sees only children and is a skilled play therapist — a specialist. We are specialists who are uniquely qualified to address children’s issues and know how to enter their world through play to provide age-appropriate therapy.

We are highly specialized child therapists and are skilled in addressing the following issues:

  • Healthy development

  • Child anxiety

  • School behavior

  • Trauma

  • Power struggles

  • ADHD/ADD

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Coping with family changes, such as divorce

  • Grief and loss

  • Difficulty with peer relationships

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Depression

  • Low self-esteem

  • Poor social skills

  • Anger management

Regardless of the issue that brings your child to the playroom, we can expect to see increased self-esteem, increased emotional regulation, increased worldview, and increased emotional vocabulary through play therapy.

Our Services

  • We offer weekly 45-minute, in-person sessions at our office. Your child will meet individually with a highly trained play therapist, and will have access to a wide-range of developmentally-appropriate toys and materials in our playroom.

  • We truly value our partnership with parents and caregivers, however we maintain child-centered integrity by not discussing a child’s progress or needs at weekly sessions. We welcome email updates from parents throughout the course of treatment, and offer a free 60-minute consultation every five weeks for further consultation and guidance.

Our Groups

Are you interested in accessing a therapeutic group experience for you or your child? Therapeutic groups offer several benefits, including:

  1. Social Skills Development: Participants learn to interact with peers, improving their communication, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills in a structured environment.

  2. Emotional Support: Being part of a group helps participants feel understood and less isolated, as they see others with similar experiences and feelings.

  3. Coping Strategies: Group therapy often includes learning and practicing coping mechanisms, which participants can apply to manage their emotions and challenges more effectively.

  4. Confidence Building: Sharing experiences and successes within the group can boost self-esteem and provide a sense of achievement.

  5. Modeling and Feedback: Participants benefit from observing others' behaviors and receiving feedback from both peers and the therapist, which helps them make positive changes.

It is important to attend all 8 sessions as we build and tell our story together

Learning social skills through play. We utilize a game called Critical Core, which was designed to be therapeutic and has many similarities to Dungeons & Dragons. It is important to note that this RPG emphasizes cooperative play rather than competitive play. Through play, we will practice perspective taking, having patience, showing empathy, problem solving, active listening, collaboration, and more!
Identity exploration. Kids will choose from premade character sheets, but will be able to customize their character and play out their choices and actions.
Clear structure and format. Our first meeting will involve character creation and setting ground rules for everyone to feel safe and comfortable throughout our time together. From this point on, we will complete a “check in” process before gameplay begins, in which players answer brief questions about their character and themselves. Then, the majority of the session will be spent playing the game. We will end with a “check out” to process thoughts and feelings about gameplay.

Please note: this group is scheduled to meet on Wednesdays (5:30-7 PM) and Fridays (4-5:30 PM) over 4 weeks beginning Wednesday, October 9th and ending Friday, November 1st.

Total cost is $320 for 8 sessions over four weeks, ($40 per 90-minute session)
